Story of the product
Now here’s something you don’t see every day. As a matter of fact, you’ve probably never seen a bag like this. We specially developed all materials and components to make it both stylish and sustainable.
The outside is made of coconut fibers pressed together with sun dried natural rubber. This material gives our bag its unique appearance, but is also strong, durable and water resistant.
The wooden handle and clasp complete the elegant design. They are crafted with care from walnut tree trimmings. So no trees were cut down to make our bags.
We only use natural materials, which makes our bag fully biodegradable. Don’t worry that it will fall apart though: Just as with a tree it will only decompose on a moist and moldy forest floor.
Before you decide to buy a Tree Bag, there is something we have to warn you about: because it is so unique, random people will stare at it and ask you questions about it. It is after all a bag they don’t see every day.

What buying this item means
We work according to the Cradle to Cradle principle, which in our case means all materials can be reused, all energy used is generated sustainably and working conditions are good. We design and produce all our products this way.
The materials we use, such as wool, coconut fibre, sun-dried rubber and walnut wood, all come from nature and can be returned to nature after use. Our CO2 footprint is compensated or positive, for example our Tree bag materials grow from trees and by growing they capture more CO2 from the atmosphere than is used in manufacturing and transportation. Moreover, the bags are sewn together in a small workshop in Amsterdam that provides employment to people with a distance to the labour market so that they can develop themselves.
The result is fully biodegradable products. After use they will turn into compost rather than waste. The compost can then be used as nutrient for nature. There is no waste and the cycle is completed.
