Maya Mehta is a capital markets lawyer with a focus on emerging markets, in particular Africa. She is active in microfinance and in 2010 she founded the global Clifford Chance Microfinance Group, for which she won a Corporate Responsibility Award. In 2004, she established an advice surgery for Asian victims of domestic violence and forced marriages in east London, which is still running today.
Maya studied Law at Oxford and is also the co-founder of the Harvard-Oxford Alumni Social Business Group, a forum dedicated to using business as a force for positive social change. She is a passionate supporter of Fashion ComPassion.
