Beshtar is a social enterprise from Afghanistan. The inspiration for Beshtar comes from the resilience of a people living in a country that has been at war for more than 30 years. All the products used in the collections are textiles and items taken from everyday life in Afghanistan and reinterpreted in a modern and contemporary fashion.  The profits from the Beshtar's collection go towards various charity's that work for women's empowerment, education, vocational training etc. The charities supported by Beshtar are Zaher Shah Foundation, AWEC, Gardens For Life and Aschiana.

The traditional men's silk turban is re-interpreted as contemporary women's trousers, skirts, dresses, tunics and tops. The Turan fabric, would would normall by worn around a Pashtun man's head for special tribal gatherings as well as everyday events.
