Classic green Burqa dress, made out of hand-made traditional burqa fabric with capsleeves and embroidery detail.

The Burqa Dresses are  created by Beshtar, a social enterprise from Afghanistan. The inspiration for Beshtar comes from the resilience of a people living in a country that has been at war for more than 30 years. All the products used in the collections are textiles and items taken from everyday life in Afghanistan and reinterpreted in a modern and contemporary fashion.  The profits from the Beshtar's collection go towards various charity's that work for women's empowerment, education, vocational training etc. The charities supported by Beshtar are Zaher Shah Foundation, AWEC, Gardens For Life and Aschiana.

The burqa is traditionally used to conceal an Afghan woman¹s face and most of her body. The visor for the eyes is made of drawn threadwork and enables women to see without being seen. It is not required for women to wear this in Afghanistan, though many feel more comfortable with it outside their homes. The fabric is often a polyester & silk blend, which makes it very wearable, washable and durable  since this is an item women wear every day in all seasons.
