Emi & Eve is a fashion brand with a difference. They design and produce luxurious and beautiful accessories made with recycled bullets and bomb casings.
Founded by fashion designer Cassandra Postema, Emi & Eve aims to use fashion to make the world a better place. The brand employs disadvantaged artisans from all over Asia who recycle and reclaim various materials to create beautiful pieces that tell a story of triumph over adversity.
After graduating from Central St Martins’ School of Art, Cassandra began working with vintage and upcycled fabrics that she collected on her travels. Her creations received critical acclaim, both from the fashion industry and the press. Yet, despite her success, Cassandra soon felt restricted and compromised by what was expected of her as a designer. She longed to return to Asia where she was raised and find her voice as a designer.
Now, partnering with local artisans and organisations such as Craftworks Cambodia, Cassandra is looking to crowdfund her line of handbags and jewellery through an Indiegogo campaign. By using recycled materials that were once mean to harm, Cassandra hopes to transform the message of violence into one of peace.
